He is naturalist, born and raised in Punta Arenas located on shores of the Magellan strait. Ricardo participates in research and conservation projects in the extreme south of Patagonia.
During the last ten years he has worked particularly in the reproductive biology and conservation of Canquen Colorado and Chorlo de Magallanes in its breeding area. He also paints birds in watercolor, has illustrated scientific works and a book about the birds of Magallanes. He has worked as a guide in Patagonia for 30 years. Ricardo lives in Punta Arenas with his wife Olivia and his sons Alonso and Antonio.
