Wonderful Pelagic Experience
We did a pelagic out of Valparaiso in September with Albatross and it was an incredible experience. The boat was nice and roomy allowing a lot of space for everyone which was nice. The guides, Eduardo and Lucas were incredibly nice and helpful, getting everyone great views of the birds and helping with ID and making sure everyone was having a good time, dealing adequately with seasickness and offering advice and food. They were also very helpful in offering some advice about the rest of our trip to Chile since we did this a couple days into a longer trip. For our first time in Chile this advice on other birding hotspots along our route was so helpful and welcoming to receive. The pelagic itself was incredible and the amount and diversity of the birds was amazing to see. Between the petrels, albatross, penguins and others we had a great experience.

Geysers, 40 life birds, incredible scenery and history
We chose Albatross Birding & Wildlife Photography for the third time to go on yet another spectacular tour of Chile. This time it was the Birding The Atacama Desert And Altiplano. Albatross handled all the arrangements beautifully for our four-day private trip from Santiago to the Atacama Desert and the Altiplano and back. Our tour guide Eduardo Navarro was fabulous, personable, and extremely well-informed to show us birds, views, geological formations, historical sites, shops, and more birds. Our excellent driver Pepe was a fount of local knowledge and shared fascinating stories about the area. He also served us three gourmet picnic meals in lovely pre-selected locations when we were far from any restaurants. Almost every moment on the tour was overwhelming in the scenic beauty, abundant birds and vicuñas and adorable vizcachas and active volcanoes and geysers and quebradas and gorgeous weather and epic history and more. I added 40 life birds to my list! One night we arranged with another group to do some stargazing—unforgettable Milky Way and brilliant sky! This was an unforgettable trip of a lifetime and well worth the expense. We'll almost certainly return to Chile some day and book Albatross for another tour. ¡Magnífico!

An unforgettable experience among birds and landscapes of Colombia.

Yeso Valley and Pacific Coast

Amazing Chilean Birding
I arranged to do 3 days guided birding from Santiago for my wife and myself, choosing Albatross Birding's listed day tours entitled, Birding the Pacific Coast, The Hills around Santiago and The Yeso Valley. From the start I encountered a very professional organisation. My initial contact was with Francisco who replied rapidly to my every email in a very courteous and informative manner. This was continued later with Maura when Francisco moved to a different position. The guides, Paula and Edwin were fantastic, as were their drivers. We have just finished a wonderful private 4-day birding tour of central Chile with Albatross. Organisation was by Maura and guiding by Edwin, and both were terrific. Maura tailored our itinerary perfectly to our needs and was always prompt in responding to our many questions. We were keen to see and get at least good quality record photographs of a wide diversity of taxa but also had several particular species in mind as priority targets. Edwin did a wonderful job on both counts – we saw about 115 species and got good quality images of the great majority, and we only dished out on one of our priority targets, which it turns out doesn’t occur in the region any more anyway. Edwin was an excellent bird finder, extremely knowledgeable about the birds of the region, tireless in his efforts to find species for us, and terrific company as well. Albatross took care of all our trip details perfectly. Our birding guide LaLo knew so much more about the island than birds…the biodiversity, the local history and the best restaurants. We had multiple birding boat trips with great success as well as finding the endemics day 1. On top of all that LaLo is really fun to spend the day with. Two Great Birding Days in Chile
We had two amazing all-day birding tours with Edwin French on December 14 and 16. He was very knowledgeable about all wildlife and especially birds. He was also very patient as I was having camera issues and was frustrated. He knew all the birding hot spots to visit and the number of birds we saw was amazing. On the first day we drove up into the Andes and reached 9500 thousand feet hoping to see Condors. Unfortunately the clouds rolled in limiting our visibility, but we saw many other birds. On the second day we birded around Valparaiso and saw Humboldt Penguins, Arctic Terns, and Peruvian Pelicans. He deiivered us to our cruise ship in Valparaiso at the end of the day. I highly recommend Edwin as a guide. You won't be disappointed.
