World Albatross Day 2021 y Albatross Birding in Chile
Description
The Agreement on Conservation of Albatrosses y Petrels (ACAP) is organizing the “World Albatross Day” as a platform to increase awareness around this group of birds and their threats. This year ACAP has chosen the theme “Ensuring Albatross-friendly Fisheries”. We would like to extend an invitation to everyone to participate in this year’s photography contest that seeks to showcase images and the emotions we experience when we see the world’s largest flying birds.
Background
This photography and story contest is part of an awareness and education initiative that seeks to showcase the beauty of a family of birds that faces multiple threats to their survival. It is intended to exhibit the role of these birds in nature, as well as the strong emotional response they elicit in those who observe them.

The specific objectives are:
- Display the beauty of these magnificent birds and their incredible behavior.

- Create a space for the artistic expression of wildlife photographers.
- Highlight the threats faced by these species to promote commitment to mitigate the impact that each of us generates.
