Ricardo Matus
Birding & Naturalist GuideRicardo is naturalist, born and raised in Punta Arenas, located on shores of the Straights of Magellan. He participates in numerous research and conservation projects in the extreme south of Patagonia.
During the last ten years he has worked particularly in the reproductive biology and conservation of the Ruddy-headed Goose and Magellanic Plover in its breeding area. He also paints birds in watercolor, has illustrated scientific works and a book on the birds of Magallanes. He has worked as a guide in Patagonia for 30 years. Ricardo lives in Punta Arenas with his wife Olivia and his sons Alonso and Antonio.
